Anatomy

It redefines the ink tokens inside itself, so a label, a plot or a table dropped in prints in light without any extra class. It stays dark in every finish, the way a display does.

Variants

  • Holding a plot
  • Holding status lines

States

  • Plot
  • Readout
  • Status lines

Usage notes

The glass does not change with the finish: it is a display, not a surface.

Accessibility

  • Text on the glass is 12:1 or better; the dimmest tint (ink-3) is for scales only.

Plot

Line charts drawn as light on glass, or as ink on a panel: gridlines faint, two traces at most, a red line for now.

LCD

A value that changes, on grey-green liquid crystal, with a ghost of the unlit segments behind it: clocks, battery, counters.

Readout

A printed label over a value: key figures, with the unit small and the change in words.
