Tactile UI

Tactile UI Pass Licence

Version 1.3 · 10 October 2026

In one paragraph

Hold a Pass and you may build the objects into anything you make: your own sites and apps, and work you do for clients, as often as you like, and change them however you like. You may use them with AI coding tools. What you may not do is pass the objects on as objects: not as a library, a kit, a template, a starter, a generator or a dataset, and not by publishing their source where others can take it.

1. Who is licensed

A Founder Pass or a Pass licenses one person: the account that bought it. It is not transferable, and the account must not be shared. Studio and team licences are not offered yet.

What each opens: a Founder Pass opens everything: the objects, the blocks and the Tactile UI Kit (its parts, templates and agent rules), current and future. A Pass, sold once the founder seats are gone, opens the objects and the blocks; the kit is then sold on its own. In this licence, "objects" means whatever the Pass opens, including blocks and kit parts.

2. What you may do

  1. Use every object the Pass opens in unlimited projects, personal and commercial, for as long as the licence stands.
  2. Modify the objects in any way.
  3. Build them into end products you own or sell (a website, an app, a product, a client deliverable) where the object is one part of something larger, not the thing itself.
  4. Hand over a project containing an object to your client. The client may run and maintain it inside that project. Reusing it anywhere else needs their own Pass.
  5. Ship the object's runtime as part of an end product: compiled, bundled or served to visitors in the ordinary course of running a site or app.
  6. Use the source and the prompts with AI coding tools, including to port an object to another platform, in your own and client projects.

3. What you may not do

  1. Redistribute, resell, sublicense or give away an object's source, in its original or a modified form, on its own or bundled, including as, or in, a component library, UI kit, design system, template, theme, starter, snippet collection, plugin, code generator, or AI training or evaluation dataset.
  2. Publish the source where others can take it, for example in a public repository, except as the ordinary runtime of a deployed end product.
  3. Use the prompts to produce a competing collection of objects, or publish them.
  4. Share or resell your account, or let anyone else use it.
  5. Remove the notices at the top of the source files.

None of this applies to a piece that carries its own licence: the MIT-licensed Odometer, Compass, Pull-cord Bulb, Engraved Client Plates, Machined Footer and FAQ Index, and the Tactile Modernism skill. Each keeps that licence wherever it ships, including inside a Pass package.

4. What the Pass includes

  • Everything the Pass opens (section 1) when you buy, and everything of the same kinds added later, for the life of the product, without paying again: new objects, blocks and, with the Founder Pass, kit parts and templates.
  • Fixes and updates to all of it.
  • Installing with the shadcn registry and reading the docs over MCP, as part of the Pass.
  • Larger separate products may be sold separately, for example team tools, a Figma library, native (SwiftUI or Android) packages, or hosted extras.
  • "For the life of the product" means for as long as Tactile UI is offered. If it ever closes, you keep what you have downloaded and this licence to use it.
  • Pieces marked Free with an account may be used by anyone with an account, under this licence, without a Pass.

5. Previews are inspectable

Live previews run in the visitor's browser, so, like any website, their runtime can be viewed with ordinary browser tools. That is not a licence. Using any object outside the preview requires this licence and, for a Pass object, a Pass.

6. Ending

This licence ends automatically if you break it, and when a payment for the Pass is reversed or lost in a card dispute. When it ends you must stop using the objects; end products already delivered may keep running only if the breach was not reselling or publishing the source.

Deleting the account that bought the Pass ends access to it on the site. What you downloaded before stays licensed to you.

7. No warranty

The objects are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the author is not liable for any claim, damage or loss arising from their use. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that the law does not allow to be limited.

8. The rest

  • Governing law: England and Wales. If you buy as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the law where you live.
  • Checkout runs on Stripe, which sells the Pass as merchant of record and charges each buyer in their own currency.
  • Refunds: a Founder Pass bought at $99 can be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase, for any reason, once per person. Any other Pass: within 14 days of purchase, a full refund if nothing has been downloaded with the account; downloading a package ends the right to a refund, and checkout asks you to agree to that before you pay. A refund ends this licence: stop using the objects and delete every copy. Ask at the address below.
