# Claim check

A cloakroom claim check for one item’s own saved state: press it and a numbered stub tears off into a little book beside the tag, its tab lit with the same number; press again and the stub pulls back out. One native button, aria-pressed carrying saved or not, so it works with no script of its own beyond the kit’s own toggle wiring.

## Anatomy

One button; nothing else listens until a press. The kit’s existing data-toggle-key listener (shared with the toggle key) flips aria-pressed on press, so the claim check needs no script of its own.

## Props and options

| Name | Kind | Description |
| - | - | - |
| data-toggle-key | attribute | The kit’s own toggle wiring flips aria-pressed on press; leave it off to set aria-pressed from your own state. |
| aria-pressed | attribute | Saved or not, for the page and for a screen reader. Start every claim check with one or the other. |
| aria-label | attribute | Names the action ("Save for later"); it stays the same whichever way the button reads, since the visible ticket is decorative (aria-hidden). |
| claimCheckHTML(options) | function | |
| Space · Enter | key | Tears the stub in or lets it go; it is a button, so both work. |

## Usage notes

Press it, or Tab to it and press Space. The stub tears into the book and its tab lights with the same number; press it again and the stub pulls back out.

## Accessibility

- It is a native button with aria-pressed, read as “Save for later, toggle button, pressed” once saved, and it works with Space and Enter.
- The ticket, the perforation and the book are aria-hidden: they are the state drawn, not a second copy of it; the button’s own aria-label carries the name, unchanged by aria-pressed.
- Saved is never colour alone: the stub’s position (gone from the tag, in the book) and the book’s lit tab both say it, and aria-pressed says it to a screen reader.
- Reduced motion drops the stub’s flight and the tab’s rise: both appear in their end position at once, nothing lost.

## Related parts

- [Toggle key](https://tactileui.dev/parts/toggle-key): One key that latches below the plate and stays there. It is the kit’s own key with one state to keep, down or up, so it is the way to say mute, pin, bold or armed without the weight of a switch. A lamp in the cap may light while it is down.
- [Receipt](https://tactileui.dev/parts/receipt): The record of a payment, printed on a slip of thermal paper: who was paid, the receipt number, when and with what, the lines and the sums, any refunds, and a rubber stamp that says where it stands, Paid, Part refunded, Refunded, Due or Void, with a lamp beside the word. It is what an order page, a billing history or the screen after checkout keeps; the order summary prices an order before it is paid. Under the slip are Print (only the slip goes to the printer), Download when there is a file, and Copy number. The sums are the order summary’s own, in whole minor units, never floating point.
- [Ticket toast](https://tactileui.dev/parts/ticket-toast): A toast issued like a numbered ticket from a dispenser. A short slip of thermal paper with a number, a line of words and, if it needs one, an action key slides out of a slot at the edge of the screen. Several fan a little. Tear one off with a swipe or its close key, or leave it and it retracts by itself, on a timer that stops while you are reading it.
- [Choice card](https://tactileui.dev/parts/choice-card): A radio or a check set as a large plate carrying a name, a sentence and a price. The plate is a big key on a skirt with a small check key in its corner; the chosen one goes down below the panel and its corner key latches. Under it is the real radio or checkbox, so a group is a native radio group and posts with the form.
