# Mark

A highlighted phrase as a lit strip behind the words: the amber lamp turned low, for search hits and the one thing a sentence must not lose.

## A lit strip

Three runs matched: refund batch, refund retry and refund audit. A stopped run writes nothing more, so nothing needs undoing.

A `mark` element is announced as highlighted where screen readers support it; the words around it should still make sense without the light. In forced colours it takes the system's own highlight.

## Rules

- Amber only: it is a lamp, and a mark is attention, not state.
- A few words at most. A marked paragraph is a paragraph nobody reads.
