# Inline code

A word of code in a small recessed plate, in the display face, that wraps cleanly inside a sentence.

## In a sentence

Set `data-finish="graphite"` on any element, then call `setFinish()` to store the choice. A long one such as `https://hooks.northwind.example/lode/v2/deliveries` breaks where it must.

The plate is the well every field sits in, at the size of a word. The face is the display face, the one place outside a display it is used: code is what the machine reads back. A key to press is a [Kbd](https://tactileui.dev/parts/kbd), not code.
